The School Completion Programme (SCP) was set up as part of the Department of Education & Skills (DES) DEIS strategy – Delivering Equality of Opportunity in Schools.
The aim of the School Completion Programme is to encourage children and young people to attend, participate and enjoy school, by providing additional activities to promote learning and fun in our school.
Additional school activities include; breakfast clubs, homework clubs, after-school supports, mentoring programmes and therapeutic interventions.
School Completion Programme also ensures schools have in place the appropriate procedures to monitor, identify and respond to attendance, participation and retention issues.
Emma Kiernan is the School Completion Co-Ordinator in St. Peter Apostle Junior School.
